Amazon.com has removed sales rankings from hundreds of gay and lesbian books in the last week, thus excluding them from many best seller lists and customer searches. Their reasoning? Hmm. So I'm looking at this list, and I have to say, I agree with some of that as being wasteful - particularly the stuff for Washington DC, the sewers and the Smithsonian stuff. I got a survey this week from the Census Bureau called The American Community Survey. The envelope helpfully let me know that my response was required by law, and that if I didn't fill it out, I could be fined. My first thought was "This has to be a scam." But no, it's actually real.
